Support Insurance Education—Become an IEI Event Sponsor

The Griffith Insurance Education Foundation, in support of its Insurance Education Institute (IEI) programs, is hosting three major fundraising events – The Golf Classic and a “Thank You” Reception at the NAMIC Annual Meeting and the Golf Benefit. These events provide us the opportunity to reach out to a broad cross section of property and casualty executives and tell the Foundation’s story. These events also give our sponsors the opportunity to get their names out in front of a number of the movers and shakers in the property and casualty insurance industry. Please view the attached PDF file for detailed information.

About Scotland Run

One of the newest courses in the mid-Atlantic region Scotland Run has quickly earned a world-class reputation. Golf Digest rates this fi ne course at 4 1/2-stars. It was also named the #1 Public Course to Entertain Clients in the Philadelphia Region by Business Week Magazine.

Carved out of an abandoned rock and gravel quarry, Scotland Run offers a distinctive blend of wooded and links-style holes. The most unique characteristics include expansive waste areas and an imposing display of cliffs. The course starts in the woods, where the fi rst eight holes are played among tree-lined fairways. It then opens up for a few holes before heading into the quarry, where the challenges become much greater. With fi ve sets of tees, Scotland Run plays 6,810 from the tips. The fairways are tight but the greens are above average in size, giving golfers of all abilities an opportunity to score well.

Scotland Run Golf Club is a thinking player’s golf course. You can’t just stand on the tee or sit in the fairway and grip it and rip it. You’ve got to have a strategy. You’ve got to know when to leave the woods in the bag and simply lay up, what part of the green to shoot for, and whether the ball will stay there when it lands. There are plenty of trouble spots, but that’s half the fun. There are three holes that are not only the elite of the course, but among the best South Jersey has to offer: holes #9 Par 3, #12 Par 4 and #18 (a 502-yard Par 5 challenge to remember.)

Thank You: Thank you for your support of the 19th Annual IEI Golf Classic. With your generous support the IEI continues to make a positive impact on the lives of thousands of teenagers by educating them about insurance and managing risk. And now, through our merger, on January 1st of this year with the Griffi th Foundation, we can begin to make an even broader impact at colleges and universities and statehouses across the country.

The proceeds from the Golf Classic will be used to: educate high school teachers and their students about risk and insurance; develop programs to encourage young people to seek careers in insurance; support risk management and insurance research and education at colleges and universities; and, educate public policymakers on the basic principles of risk management and insurance.
