Welcome to the first issue of the IEI e-newsletter!
This replaces the Insurance Educator and Foundation Facts that were published 3 times a year (back issues of these printed versions can be found at www.IEI.org)
It is our hope to make the most current and up-to-date information on insurance available to teachers for use in the classroom. If you are a teacher, please check out the Educators page of the site by clicking on the “Educator” icon in the left-hand margin of the main page.
Here you will find links to hot topics, and sections on the most relevant insurance information for your students, such as auto, homeowners/renters, health and life insurance.
We’ve included other web sites for additional information, and have a host of other resources on each topic available for you to order online either through IEI directly, or with another organization providing the resource.
This is where you will also find information about other IEI programs, such as the summer institutes, the James L. Osborne Teacher of the Year award, and other new developments of the Foundation.
Don’t forget to register for the site by clicking on the icon in the right-hand margin. It will be required to register if you wish to place an order for materials.
If you are a contributor of IEI, check out the Supporters page. Here you will find information on fund raising
activities held in conjunction with the PCI and NAMIC annual meetings. You will also find information on how to sponsor a teacher to attend an institute, and how to participate in the “Network with Teachers” program that promotes developing a link between a teacher and a local insurance representative.
The e-newsletter is scheduled for release as often as there is new information to share. Please feel free to pass this information along to any of your colleagues or friends. They too can sign up to receive the newsletter!

Call for Materials
It is the mission of IEI to provide quality insurance information and educational materials to high school teachers that will aid them with classroom instruction. If your company has an educational video, DVD, brochure, or other medium that you would like to publicize to teachers via the IEI web site, please contact Michelle Maclin, Director of Programs.
New Contributors
IEI will recognize new contributors in each issue of the e-newsletter. We are pleased to welcome the Central Indiana Chapter, CPCU Society, Indianapolis, IN as a new teacher scholarship sponsor and Alfa Insurance Group, Montgomery, AL as a general contributor.
As always, all contributions, large and small, are greatly appreciated and go toward the Foundation's mission of educating tomorrow's consumers about risk management and insurance principles. |
