Insurance Education Foundation Names New President
INDIANAPOLIS (Dec. 17, 2003)--Larry L. Forrester
has been appointed as the President and CEO of The Insurance Education Institute (IEI). Recently retired as president
and CEO of the National Association of Mutual Insurance
Companies (NAMIC), Forrester assumes leadership of the
IEI immediately. He succeeds Jack Clanton, who passed
away recently after a battle with cancer.
"Larry Forrester has served the property/casualty industry for more than 30 years and is respected throughout the industry, said Stephen Collesano, Ph.D., vice president of AIG and IEI chairman. "His relationship with the senior management of a diverse group of insurance companies will enable him to communicate the mission of the Foundation and to expand industry efforts to teach high school educators about insurance and its role in society."
Chuck Chamness, President and CEO of NAMIC, expressed the association's support. "Larry has been a strong and vocal advocate for the mission of the IEI since its formation in 1988," said Chamness. "His industry experience and commitment will help significantly improve public understanding of the role insurance plays in the U.S. economy at the national, state and individual level."
