The Insurance Education Institute Announces Competition for the James L. Osborne Insurance Educator of the Year Award for 2002

(Indianapolis IN, October 26, 2001) The Insurance Education Institute (IEI) announces the competition for the James L. Osborne Insurance Educator of the Year Award for the year 2002. In honor of the organization's founder, James L. Osborne, this award will be presented to a high school teacher who demonstrates excellence in providing insurance education to our nation's high school students.

To be eligible, nominees must be professional educators who have completed an Insurance Education Institute sponsored by IEI. They also must have taught insurance during the 2001-2002 school year in a course leading to a high school diploma.

Entry forms with accompanying materials must be received by December 15, 2001. Finalists will be selected by January 15, and the winner will be announced by March 15, 2002.

The Insurance Education Institute is a nonprofit charitable organization devoted to improving public understanding of the role of insurance in society. The foundation pursues this mission primarily through the education of secondary school teachers and students.
